Did you hear Pope Francis’ installation message? I sure hope you did. I personally found it to be very inspiring. So if you haven’t had the chance to hear it, you can read a wonderful summary of it here: “Let Us Take Up God’s Offer, Says Pope.”
One of the lines from the Pope’s homily that really touched my soul was this: “God always waits for us, even when we have left him behind.” Hearing this line, I was reminded how loved I am by my Lord–how loved we all are. Despite our inclination to sin, God still waits on us with the longings of a father’s heart.
God always waits for us to repent and return to him. His love for us is patient, kind and forgiving. No matter how grave we think our sins are, we should always remember that no sin is too great to separate us from the love of God. As it says in Isaiah 30:18: “But the Lord still waits for you to come to Him so He can show His love and compassion. For the Lord is a faithful God.”
