When you thank God for the blessings that he has showered upon you, do you remember to thank him for giving you the gift of the Catholic faith? Because honestly, although I am extremely happy that I am a Catholic, I do not get to thank God for giving me this gift of faith as much as I thank him for providing me and my family with everything that we have.
A post on the Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI’s final Lectio Divina titled “Be Joyful Because God Has Chosen You To Be A Catholic,” reminded me of how much I ought to be grateful and joyful for being a Catholic. It reminded me of how great a privilege it is to be able to deepen my relationship with Jesus through all the consolations the Catholic Church offers–daily mass, the Eucharist, confession, the rosary, and the unwavering teaching of faith and morals.
From now on, I want to make it a habit to thank God daily for guiding me into his church and letting me experience celebrate the great gift of salvation with his people.
