Faith and Friends: Your Church Community Will Provide Them

Today’s post at The Catholic Working Mom entitled, Catholic Sister Friendships: How to Establish these Special Relationships – Holy Hints Thursday reminded me of the great friendship I have been blessed to share with some of my fellow Catholic Church members. These faithful, steadfast, and loyal friends of mine have helped me through rough patches in both my personal and spiritual life. Without them inspiring, encouraging, and helping me out all through the years that have gone by, my faith would not have been as strong as it is today.

I believe that faithful friends are an important part of our journey of faith, as it says in Ecclesiastes 4:9-12, “Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil. For if they fall, one will lift up his fellow. But woe to him who is alone when he falls and has not another to lift him up! Again, if two lie together, they keep warm, but how can one keep warm alone? And though a man might prevail against one who is alone, two will withstand him—a threefold cord is not quickly broken.”

All of us are more consistent in our faith when others walk with us and encourage us. I pray that you have found friends as faithful as the ones I have.

God Can Reveal Himself Through Our Friends and Family

It is possible to find God in all aspects of your daily life. He will always be there affecting your day in one way or another. I recently read a post from Catholic Mom titled, “God in Our Friends”. The author of the post Tanya Weitzel make a lot of sense to me when she describes how she feels separated from God when she doesn’t see her good friends for a long time. This was a terrific post about friendship and how it can bring you closer to God so check it out.
