A post titled, “The Very Basis Of The Gospel Is To Know That God Is Love!” delivered a wonderful reminder to me today. It reminded me of why I have been saved by Jesus–of why I was given the gift of Salvation. While it can be a complex thing to think about the concept of salvation sometimes, the reason why we have all been saved and offered a chance at eternal life is really simple, and that is because God loves us so dearly.
According to the Catechism of the Catholic Church:
Our justification comes from the grace of God. Grace is favor, the free and undeserved help that God gives us to respond to his call to become children of God, adoptive sons, partakers of the divine nature and of eternal life.
We don’t deserve to be saved. We don’t deserve to live with God forever. We don’t deserve the grace of God, but God gave it to us anyway. All because of his great love for us all.
