The Hardest Part of Being A Parent: The Unconditional Love

The stresses of parenting can easily take a toll on a busy mom like me. Before I got married and had kids, I already had heard some of my friends say that parenting is the hardest job in the world. As a single, childless woman, I would often take those statements as an exaggeration of some sort. I mean, what could be so difficult about feeding, bathing, grooming and watching over a little child? Ha! I should have known better!

As soon as I had my first child, I realized just how much of a struggle it is to care for one little kid. The endless crying, the sleepless nights, the terrible sight and smell of poop, the constant state of mess and uncontrollable tantrums. (Well, I could go on, but I think you already got my point.)

Yes, parenting can be hard with all these things that parents need to do to raise a child a healthy and happy child. But what really is it that makes parenting the hardest job in the world? One mother’s answer opened my eyes and moved me to tears, she said, “It is LOVE that makes parenting so hard.” Here is her beautiful post entitled, “What Makes Parenting So Hard.”
