I read a post this morning titled, “God Bless The Broken People.” The post was about the realities and dangers of depression. The article opened my eyes and made me realize a couple of things about the illness that is depression. The most important lesson I got to take from it was how important it is for us to remember that God is never absent in our lives–most especially during times of need. When you are feeling the most broken-hearted you have ever felt, you are still in the presence of God.
During troubled times, a lot of us get this feeling that we are all by ourselves. However, the truth is that in these times of despair God is closest to us. As the great King David said in Psalm 34:18: “The Lord is close to the broken-hearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”
It may not be easy to seek and feel God in trying times, but know that he is always there waiting for you to open your heart for his comfort and healing.
