When a child misbehaves in public, parents often see themselves caught between a rock and a hard place. I mean yes, parents deal with fits of misbehavior all the time, but things just become very different when other people are looking. We feel pressured, embarrassed, and frustrated. All of these emotions often get the best of us. Having these strong feelings affect our ability to think well and do the right thing.
Although there are so many great and helpful tips out there on how to deal with a child that is acting out in public, I believe that it is very important that we take control of our emotions first before we actually do anything to control our misbehaving child. A calm parent is a wise and effective parent.
